Project description:
National Project of Slovak National Library (SNL) “Creation of Network with Info Interconnection of Scientific, Academic and Specialised Libraries Including Their Upgrade” or “Information for Innovation” which is co-funded from EU Structural funds within the scope of sector operation program Industry and Services. Support of building and reconstruction of infrastructure is held since 24. April 2007 when a contract had been signed to render a non-refundable financial allowance between Department of Economy / NARMSP and SNL.  The main aim of the Project is to increase quality of specialised info services for the sector of small and medium entrepreneurship, research and development, industry and services. The Project aims to secure info to industry and services to supply relevant most up-to-date scientific and technical, patent, economic, marketing etc info by using specialised electronic info sources. Access to these databases will be implemented thru info portal for entrepreneurs and thru contact info-scientific centres directly in scientific and academic libraries which are partners to this Project. Part of the Project is a necessary upgrade of scientific and academic libraries which are key info institutions and info base of the entrepreneur sector in developed European countries. The Project focuses on activities to using info interconnected systems in scientific, academic and specialised libraries by which the users from business, research and academic background will be able to gain the most up-to-date relevant expert info in their field. Accessibility and concentration of info needed for entrepreneurs in regions will be secured by providing access to mutual external info sources provided by the Project’s budget.
